Guelph Country Club is an 9 hole semi-private golf course located in Guelph, Ontario. Originally a private, members only course, in 1998 they allowed public access while still continuing the tradition of family and membership.
The course first opened for play in 1912.
A nursery was started in 1935, planting 6700 trees. In 1943, Willow trees were planted between the 1st and 2nd fairway, and 9500 seedlings were planted in 1946. The legacy of these plantings is visible today with the countless mature, majestic, towering pines and blue spruce, and the magnificent fall colors that can be enjoyed across the entire course.
This relatively short course is hilly and heavily treed thanks to the plantings decades ago. The greens are small and with hidden breaks. The fairways are fairly wide and tree lined.
The signature hole is #7, a 170-yard, par 3, requiring a shot from an elevated tee to a small green, which is fully encircled by pine trees.
There are additional sets of tees that can be used when playing a double loop eighteen hole round.

Paid for 18 and then found out its a 9 hole layout w/ double loop and there were some groups ready to make the turn. It stretches out to 3,022yds @ 125 slope /36par with a tight layout. Houses on some fairways with two (2) par 5's (528/493), five (5) par 4's around 340yds and two (2) par 3's @ 170yds. Very nice straight away layout if your only looking for a quick 9, IF its empty of the grey haired foursome playing 30 minutes a hole. I wouldn't play here again because of the 9 hole layout and I'm looking for 18. They were good about refunding the 9 holes I didn't play.
